Frequently asked questions

We are dog friendly. Please bring plenty of dog blankets with you to protect the camper upholstery from sharp claws and muddy paws! We do occasionally levy a small charge of £25 if the camper needs a thorough clean due to malting and needs extra cleaning.

Awnings can be provided but are subject to availability, please call ahead to check our stock levels. Awnings can take up quite a lot of luggage space and can take up to an hour to put up and take down which is never much fun. Alternatives to awnings are simple pop-up tents available from most camping outlets, including Halfords. They are cheap to buy and good for storing additional items or using as additional sleeping quarters.

It’s not essential as the campers work independently without being plugged in to mains electricity, however if you need to use the domestic 3 pin plug socket in each van then please book a pitch with electric hook up. We provide a mains hook up cable that will allow you to use mains devices such as hairdryers, laptop computers, etc.

The van’s battery will recharge as you drive around and all vans have 12v cigarette style sockets for charging mobile phones and ipads etc as you are driving.

Campers are equipped with everything that you will need for life on the road including crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment.
We don’t provide bedding and towels so make sure you pack bed sheets, pillows, duvets or sleeping bags..

You might like to bring along a few useful little home comforts as well, such as kitchen roll, a small bottle of cooking oil, plastic shopping bags for rubbish, cling film, phone charger, baby wipes (for sticky BBQ fingers!), a pack of cards and torches.

We love packing our clothes in soft bags as they can easily squash in anywhere, supermarket long-life bags work well and you can have one each plus one for the laundry!

If you’re hiring one of our classic campers for a weekend break or short mid week break please be aware that we have a limit of 250 miles, which will allow for travel in the many beautiful areas of Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex, and Kent. Longer breaks of a week or more are exempt, but we retain the right to cancel any bookings deemed excessive in mileage. Please bear in mind these campers are pushing nearly 50 years old and prefer to bumble along quiet country roads local to us. Whilst Cornwall and Wales are beautiful places to visit they can often burn hours of travel time robbing you of precious holiday time. For this reason we do not allow classic campers to venture further than the above areas without prior consent.

Our modern campers have full standard retractable seat belts suitable for child and booster seats. Classic campers will have either full retractable belts or lap belts. Please call us 07788 100696 if you need advice on which camper is best for taking children or babies as we are happy to advise on setup.

Yes, all campers have Radio/CD players with USB/iPod connectivity.

When you come to collect we will ensure there is a proper handover and will walk you through everything you need to know. The campers are all maintained to the highest standards, but are from a different era to the modern car, so will not have luxuries such as cruise control or high speed engines. Part of their charm is they force you to take things at a more relaxed pace, so you’ll enjoy the 55mph cruising speed and not worry too much about covering vast distances in a day. Much better to kick back and enjoy the ride on A-roads getting to a destination that’s not too far away or breaking up your journey so you and your camper feel refreshed and can enjoy the adventure.
Everyone that has hired our campers has enjoyed the experience and you’ll feel at home within 10mins of driving. Remember our campers are all UK RHD models so there is no having to get used to controls on the wrong side.

The campers will sleep 4 people comfortably (2 adults and 2 children).

For older children Peaches, Apricot & Kiwi are more suitable as they have larger double beds in the roof space. Modern campers are suitable for all ages.
Mango & Blueberry have small hammock style beds in the roof so are only suitable for children under 7 years old. Please speak to us if you would like advice on the best camper for your needs.

Our campervans are all fully covered by AA roadside and recovery so you will not ever be left stranded!
In the unlikely event that your van needs to be brought back to us, we endeavour to provide a replacement campervan, but if this is not possible we will refund you a percentage of your money back based on your lost holiday days.
